Hello! My name is Grethel Varona and I am originally from Cuba .I am currently a senior at The School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management as an aspiring professional in the Tourism and Hospitality Management Industry.My passion for the industry started back before moving to the United States .I grew up in a country where tourism is huge and since I was a little girl, I had the opportunity to travel across Cuba and visit different provinces, exploring a culture I always wanted to gain more knowledge and appreciate my roots.
Once I entered the United States I decided I needed to continue my education . I enrolled at Lassalle University were I obtained my Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. Once I graduated from Lasalle I started looking into different programs and while Lasalle University had many choices of degree programs, they didn’t offer anything I was passionate about.When I looked into Temple University and discovered The Tourism and Hospitality program I recognized this was a perfect fit for what I always wanted as a career.
As I wind down my studies, recognizing my bachelor degree is on the horizon, I can take pride in this accomplishment which has prepared me for an entry level position in my chosen field .
